Want to fight climate change and get fit at the same time? Climategames and ReSea Project has the answer…

Imagine if, for every kilometre that you ran, swam, cycled or walked, you could remove plastic from the ocean and fight climate change? Well, thanks to Climategames and the ReSea project, you can do just that.

Climategames is a new sports app on a mission to fight climate change in a fun and rewarding way – by empowering people through sport. In tandem with the ReSea project – a Danish organisation that actively removes plastic from our oceans and waterways – they aim to remove 1,000 KILOS of plastic waste this month.

But they need your help. By Downloading the app and logging every time you run, swim, cycle, or walk outdoors, the clever Climategames app will track your movement via GPS and Resea Project will remove 100 grams of plastic (or the equivalent of five 500 ml single use plastic water bottles) from oceans and rivers.

Martin Lacey Founder & CEO, Climategames said: “We’re on a mission to become the most fun, easy and competitive way for people everywhere to make a positive impact

on climate change, in a way that’s also good for their lifestyle. This is a chance to join a movement and make your work out or walk really matter. This July, and beyond, small steps really can make a big difference.”

Christine Tangdal at ReSea Project, said: “To have a positive impact on plastic pollution and ocean health, we must all come together. Climategames is an initiative everyone can get behind easily to take action. Just doing your usual work out or walk will take plastic out of oceans and rivers, so why not track it? We’re proud to host an event with Climategames on the app and have set a huge goal to stop 1,000 kilos of plastic from polluting the ocean. We’d love to see everyone working together to make a difference this Plastic Free July.”

For the more competitive, you can host challenges with your friends, or for the team sport enthusiasts you can sign up to share a goal.
